Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren will be sidelined for eight to ten weeks after undergoing a biological treatment on his right patellar tendon, the team announced on Friday.
The procedure was described as successful, but Holmgren will require a recovery period that will keep him off the court for a significant portion of the early season.
The 22-year-old forward suffered the tendon tear earlier this month and had been listed as day-to-day before the decision to proceed with the treatment.
Thunder medical staff expect Holmgren to return to full activity following the rehabilitation timeline.
