The New York Mets have cut ties with outfielder Cristian Pache, a member of the Atlanta Braves' 2021 World Series championship team. The move was reported Friday by Yahoo Sports.
Pache, wearing number 71, appeared for the Mets as recently as September 25, 2026, when he played center field against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park. The 25-year-old Venezuelan was acquired by New York in a trade with the Braves organization but did not secure a long-term role on the major league roster.
The Braves originally signed Pache as an international free agent in 2015. He made his MLB debut with Atlanta in 2020 and was on the postseason roster during their World Series run the following year. After being traded to the Oakland Athletics in the Matt Olson deal, Pache was later claimed off waivers by the Mets.
