The Indianapolis Colts are actively shopping star running back Jonathan Taylor, according to ESPN and NFL Network. The 2-5 Colts have already traded Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner this week, and Taylor could fetch a significant return, with at least one offer including a second-round pick plus additional compensation. Taylor, who has not requested a trade, has eight rushing touchdowns through seven games this season and has twice led the NFL in rushing touchdowns.
Five teams have been linked to Taylor: the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, and Seattle Seahawks. Each has varying needs at running back.
The Green Bay Packers (5-3) rank last in rushing yards per game (60.6) and yards per rush (2.9), putting a heavy burden on quarterback Jordan Love.
The New York Giants (4-2-1) lead the NFC East and could use a bell-cow back to complement quarterback J.J. McCarthy.
The Denver Broncos (5-2) have struggled on the ground, ranking 30th in yards after first contact per rush, and possess an extra 2027 fourth-round pick.
The Seattle Seahawks (4-3) already traded with the Colts this week and miss Kenneth Walker III; offensive coordinator Brian Fleury has experience acquiring a top back midseason.
The Minnesota Vikings (6-0) have only 10 touchdowns this season, the fewest for a 6-0 team since 1934; Taylor's 40 touchdowns over the past three seasons could provide a finishing touch alongside mobile quarterback Kyler Murray.
The Colts' asking price remains high, but with the trade deadline approaching, a deal could reshape the playoff race.
