Lionel Messi has no plans to return to his boyhood club Newell's Old Boys and intends to remain with Inter Miami until 2028, according to reports on Friday.
The Argentine World Cup winner, who joined the Major League Soccer side in 2023, is focused on extending his stay in the United States rather than making a sentimental return to the Argentine club where he began his youth career.
Messi's current contract with Inter Miami runs through the 2025 season, but the 39-year-old forward is reportedly targeting a longer-term commitment that would keep him at the Florida club until 2028.
