Japanese driver Ryo Hirakawa believes he could have advanced to the second qualifying session (Q2) at the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix had he not encountered late traffic during his final lap in Q1.

Hirakawa, who was participating in the session, reported that traffic on the circuit cost him valuable time, preventing him from setting a competitive lap.

The Mexico Grand Prix qualifying took place on October 31, 2026.
