The Milwaukee Brewers secured their first World Series championship in franchise history, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Wednesday night.
The victory clinched the best-of-seven series for Milwaukee, marking the organization's first MLB title since its inception in 1969 as the Seattle Pilots before relocating to Milwaukee in 1970.
Center fielder Garrett Mitchell, wearing number 5, was photographed holding a newspaper proclaiming the Brewers as world champions during the post-game celebration on the field.
The Brewers' triumph concludes the 2026 MLB season and delivers a historic championship to the city of Milwaukee.
