The University Interscholastic League (UIL) has reinstated Argyle High School quarterback Hayes Hackney ahead of the Eagles' regular-season finale.
Hackney, a standout signal-caller for Argyle, was cleared to return to action after a period of ineligibility. The senior wore number 2 in the team's district 3-5A Division II matchup against Lovejoy High School on October 9, 2026, at Argyle ISD Stadium in Flower Mound.
The reinstatement was announced on October 30, 2026, giving Hackney the opportunity to lead Argyle in their final regular-season game.
