Former Northwestern Wildcats standout Veronica Burton has won her first WNBA championship as the Golden State Valkyries defeated the Atlanta Dream in Game 7 of the 2026 WNBA Finals on October 31 at Chase Center in San Francisco.
The Valkyries secured the title with a victory in the decisive seventh game, prompting celebrations as players lifted the WNBA Championship Trophy on the court.
Burton, who played college basketball at Northwestern, joined the Valkyries for the 2026 season and contributed to the team's championship run.
