Veteran trainer Abel Sanchez has delivered his verdict on a potential matchup between Canelo Alvarez and Christian Mbilli, stating that the fight would not end by knockout. Sanchez, known for coaching Gennady Golovkin among other champions, shared his assessment during a Big Fight Weekend segment on October 31, 2026.
The Mexican superstar Alvarez and the undefeated Cameroonian-French contender Mbilli have been mentioned as possible opponents in the super middleweight division. While details of Sanchez's full analysis were not disclosed in the initial report, his stance suggests he expects a competitive bout that goes the distance rather than a sudden finish.
