First basemen Christian Walker and Matt Olson each captured their fourth career Gold Glove Award, while outfielder Wilyer Abreu secured his third, Major League Baseball announced on November 2, 2026. The honors recognize the league's top defensive players at each position for the 2026 season.
Walker, who plays for the Houston Astros, and Olson, of the Atlanta Braves, have now joined an elite group of first basemen with four or more Gold Gloves. Abreu, a Boston Red Sox outfielder, continues his run as one of the premier defensive outfielders in the American League.
The awards are voted on by managers and coaches, who cannot vote for players on their own teams. Selections are based on a combination of traditional fielding statistics and advanced defensive metrics.
