Former Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Shawn Armstrong has become a free agent, according to reports on Monday. The right-hander, who wore number 64 for the Cubs, appeared in a game against the Oakland Athletics at Wrigley Field on September 17, 2024.
Armstrong's move to free agency opens the door for him to sign with any Major League Baseball team for the upcoming season. The Cubs will now look to fill the bullpen spot left by his departure.
