Aaron Rodgers' Proposal for Consolidated NFL International Games Called 'Nonsensical Concept'
World Sports · 10:20:47 - Thursday, 5 November 2026

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has suggested that the NFL should schedule all of its international games within a single week, a proposal that has drawn sharp criticism from commentators. Writing for Awful Announcing, Sean Keeley described the idea as a "nonsensical concept" that fails to account for the logistical complexities of staging multiple games across different countries in such a compressed timeframe.

The NFL has expanded its international footprint in recent years, holding regular-season games in London, Germany, and Mexico. Rodgers' suggestion would represent a radical departure from the current model, which spreads international fixtures throughout the season. Critics argue that concentrating games into one week would diminish the global promotional value, strain travel and accommodation resources, and create competitive imbalances for the teams involved.

Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, has previously voiced opinions on league scheduling and player welfare. The league has not formally responded to his latest proposal.
