12 NFL Players with No-Trade Clauses Unlikely to Move Before Deadline
World Sports · 14:37:27 - Thursday, 5 November 2026

The NFL trade deadline falls on November 10, but a dozen players are virtually guaranteed to stay with their current teams because their contracts include no‑trade clauses. Any deal involving them would first require the player's consent.

Quarterbacks

Ten quarterbacks hold no‑trade clauses: Joe Burrow (Bengals), Jared Goff (Lions), Justin Herbert (Chargers), Jalen Hurts (Eagles), Lamar Jackson (Ravens), Trevor Lawrence (Jaguars), Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs), Dak Prescott (Cowboys), Brock Purdy (49ers), and Deshaun Watson (Browns). Burrow leads the NFL in completion percentage (73.0%) and touchdown passes (20) while guiding Cincinnati to a 5‑2 start. Goff is on pace to pass Hall of Famers Dan Fouts and Joe Montana on the career passing lists. Herbert could consider waiving his clause if a contender with a strong offensive line calls. Hurts is expected to miss the rest of the season after blood clots were found in his lungs. Jackson may also miss the remainder of the year with a right thumb injury. Lawrence is enjoying a career‑best season, leading the NFL in passer rating (112.6) and yards per attempt. Mahomes continues to play at an MVP level despite Kansas City's recent losses. Prescott has thrown 14 touchdowns and leads the league with 108 passing first downs. Purdy owns the highest career passer rating in NFL history (104.8) and has San Francisco at 6‑1. Watson has thrown for over 300 yards in each of Cleveland's last two games but has been sacked a league‑high 33 times.

Defensive Stars

Defensive end Will Anderson (Texans) leads the NFL with 7.5 sacks through eight weeks and has 16.5 sacks since Week 6 of the 2025 season, third‑most in the league over that span. Linebacker Myles Garrett (Rams) holds the single‑season sack record and is nearing a return from injury after missing most of the season; Los Angeles plans to open his 21‑day return window this week.
