Former world number one Lee Westwood remains without a playing contract as talks surrounding the next phase of LIV Golf, dubbed "LIV 2.0," have stalled, according to reports on Tuesday.
The 51-year-old Englishman, a veteran of 11 Ryder Cup appearances and 25 European Tour victories, has been linked with a move to the Saudi-backed circuit for months. However, negotiations between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour over a potential framework agreement have reportedly slowed, leaving several high-profile players in limbo.
Westwood, who served as a non-playing vice-captain for Europe at the 2023 Ryder Cup, last competed in a major championship at the 2024 Open Championship. His absence from competitive golf underscores the ongoing uncertainty facing players awaiting clarity on the sport's fractured landscape.
