The St. Louis Cardinals are weighing whether to seek an external upgrade at third base this offseason, according to a report from Last Word on Sports. The article examines the team's current options at the position and explores potential trade or free-agent targets.
The piece references Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm, who delivered a key hit in Game 4 of the 2025 National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on October 9, 2025. Bohm's performance in the postseason highlights the caliber of player the Cardinals might consider if they decide to look outside the organization.
St. Louis' front office is expected to evaluate both internal candidates and external possibilities as they aim to strengthen the infield for the 2026 season.
