The Texas Longhorns' passing attack is taking on a new look in quarterback Arch Manning's second season as starter. The offense has shown increased versatility through the first half of the 2026 campaign, with Manning demonstrating improved command of the system.
In the team's most recent outing, a home game against Mississippi State on October 31 at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium, the Longhorns secured a victory highlighted by a defensive touchdown. Defensive lineman Maraad Watson recovered a fumble and returned it for a score, providing a momentum shift in the contest.
Head coach Steve Sarkisian has emphasized the development of Manning's decision-making and the expansion of the route tree. The sophomore signal-caller has benefited from a more experienced receiving corps and improved protection up front.
As the Longhorns prepare for the second half of their schedule, the continued growth of the passing game will be critical to their conference championship aspirations.
