Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin delivered harsh criticism of Brian Schottenheimer, according to a report published Wednesday. The former Cowboys star, who won three Super Bowls with the franchise in the 1990s, took aim at Schottenheimer in comments that underscore ongoing scrutiny of the team's offensive direction.
Irvin's remarks come as the Cowboys evaluate their coaching structure following another playoff disappointment. Schottenheimer served as Dallas' offensive coordinator during the 2023 and 2024 seasons before departing the organization. The Hall of Famer's pointed assessment adds to external pressure on the franchise's decision-making.
Neither Irvin nor the Cowboys have released additional details on the specific nature of the criticism. The franchise has not publicly responded to the Hall of Famer's comments as of Wednesday afternoon.
