Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham took to social media on Wednesday to share a message about national unity following the Democratic Party's victory in the 2026 midterm elections. The WNBA player posted about "being better Americans" in the wake of the electoral outcome.
Cunningham, who has been with the Fever since being drafted in 2019, used her platform to address the political moment. The post came on November 4, 2026, the day after voters went to the polls for the midterm elections that saw Democrats secure wins across key races.
The 28-year-old guard from Missouri has previously engaged in social commentary alongside her basketball career. Her latest message emphasized civic responsibility and collective improvement rather than partisan celebration.
Cunningham appeared in a regular-season game against the Phoenix Mercury on July 9, 2026, at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona, as the Fever continue their WNBA campaign.
