The North Carolina Tar Heels came agonizingly close to upsetting the Miami Hurricanes in a tightly contested matchup, according to analysis from SB Nation's David Starnes. The Tar Heels' performance showed promise despite the narrow defeat, with wide receiver Jordan Shipp featuring prominently in the team's offensive plans.
Shipp, wearing the number 1 jersey, was photographed ahead of UNC's October 24, 2026 game against the Syracuse Orange at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels' near-victory over Miami suggests the program continues to develop under its current coaching staff, with several key players stepping up in crucial moments.
Starnes' quick thoughts piece, published on November 4, 2026, examines the tactical decisions and individual performances that nearly led to a signature win for North Carolina against a conference rival.
