Former NFL quarterback Russell Wilson has interviewed for the head coaching vacancy at North Carolina State University, according to a report from Seahawks Wire on Thursday.
The interview marks a notable potential career transition for Wilson, who spent 12 seasons in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos before joining the Pittsburgh Steelers. The nine-time Pro Bowl selection has no prior coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level.
NC State has been searching for a permanent replacement since Dave Doeren's departure. The Wolfpack program competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference and finished the 2025 season with a 6-6 record.
No timeline has been announced for a final hiring decision.
