Quarterback Sam Darnold has been ruled out for his team's Week 9 game against the Arizona Cardinals, according to a report from Cardinals Wire on Thursday. The announcement comes ahead of the November 5 matchup, leaving the starting quarterback position in question for the upcoming contest.
Darnold's absence marks a significant development for the offense as they prepare to face the Cardinals' defense. The specific nature of the issue sidelining the quarterback was not immediately disclosed in the initial report. Backup options will likely see increased practice repetitions this week as the coaching staff adjusts its game plan.
The Week 9 matchup is scheduled for Sunday, with both teams looking to improve their standings in what has been a competitive NFC landscape this season. Further updates on Darnold's status and potential return timeline are expected as the week progresses.
