Manchester City women's stars Khadija Shaw and Lauren Hemp were among the notable absentees from the FifPro World XI announced on Tuesday. The pair, who have been instrumental for club and country, missed out on selection for the global best XI as voted by professional footballers worldwide.
The FifPro World XI recognizes the top players across all positions over the past season. Shaw, a prolific striker for Jamaica and City, and Hemp, an England winger, were considered strong contenders but did not make the final lineup.
BBC Sport women's football reporter Emma Sanders reported the news on November 3, 2026.
