Los Angeles Kings right wing Adrian Kempe scored a hat trick to lead his team to a 7-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Kempe's three goals came during the second period, with the forward celebrating alongside teammates Alex Laferriere and Quinton Byfield after completing the feat. The Kings' offensive outburst also included goals from Erik Haula, Scott Laughton, and Corey Perry.
For the Sharks, center Macklin Celebrini and rookie Michael Misa saw significant ice time, while defenseman Sam Dickinson matched up against Perry on several shifts. The loss continues a difficult stretch for San Jose against their Southern California rivals.
The Associated Press reported the game concluded with the Kings firmly in control, improving their record in the Pacific Division standings.
