Trade discussions between the Detroit Red Wings and San Jose Sharks involving defenseman Simon Edvinsson are reportedly heating up, according to a report from Detroit Sports Nation published on November 5, 2026.
The 23-year-old Swedish blueliner has been the subject of speculation as both teams explore potential roster moves ahead of the NHL trade deadline. Edvinsson, a former first-round pick, has shown promise with his size and skating ability but has yet to secure a full-time role in Detroit.
No official confirmation has been issued by either franchise, and the exact framework of a possible deal remains unclear.
