Victor Wembanyama delivered a historic performance on November 5, 2026, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a 112-111 victory over the Dallas Mavericks with 52 points, 24 rebounds and eight blocks. It marked the first time since Bob McAdoo in 1974 that a player recorded at least 50 points, 20 rebounds and five blocks in a single game.
The 20-year-old French center said after the game that he had been battling an illness early in the season. "I haven't been feeling great lately," Wembanyama said, via the Associated Press. "I've been sick for a while and today I felt like I got my legs back. So it should be more like this, more often."
Shooting struggles persist
Despite the dominant outing, Wembanyama acknowledged his perimeter shooting remains a concern. He is shooting 24% from three-point range and 11-of-36 from mid-range this season. "My shots weren't falling tonight and that forces me into a style of play that is exhausting," he said. "I can do it ... but I can be much better if my shots fall. I know it's just a matter of time."
The Spurs have won six consecutive games after an 0-2 start, and Wembanyama has scored at least 36 points in three of the last four contests while recording five or more blocks in four games this season.
