Pittsburgh Penguins assistant coach Dan Muse has defended defenseman Declan Carlile amid criticism of the player's performance, according to an analysis by Adam Gretz published on SB Nation. The discussion follows the Penguins' NHL game against the Florida Panthers on October 22, 2026, at PPG Paints Arena, where Carlile was photographed skating with the puck during the third period. While Muse supports Carlile, the article acknowledges that critics have valid points regarding the defenseman's play.
