The Carolina Panthers have received trade calls regarding defensive tackle Derrick Brown, according to a report from Panthers Wire. The 2020 first-round pick has emerged as a potential trade asset as the franchise evaluates its roster direction.
Brown, selected seventh overall in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Auburn, has developed into one of the league's premier interior defensive linemen. The 26-year-old has started all 66 games of his career to date, accumulating 18.5 sacks, 43 tackles for loss, and 87 quarterback hits across his first five seasons.
Trade inquiries for a player of Brown's caliber and age are not uncommon as teams assess roster construction and salary cap implications. The Panthers, currently in a rebuilding phase, would likely command significant draft capital in any potential deal for their defensive cornerstone.
