Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton has been nominated for the NFL's Salute to Service Award, the league announced Thursday. The award recognizes exceptional efforts by members of the NFL community to honor and support members of the military community.
Payton, who is in his second season leading the Broncos, joins other nominees from across the league for the annual honor presented by USAA. The award highlights coaches, players, and staff who demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting active-duty service members, veterans, and their families.
The winner will be recognized during the NFL's Salute to Service weekend and will receive a $25,000 donation from USAA to their chosen military charity. Finalists are typically announced later in the season, with the recipient honored at the NFL Honors ceremony ahead of the Super Bowl.
