Oliver Glasner warns Nottingham Forest cannot rely on 'flower power' for success

Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner has warned his squad that they cannot rely on "flower power" alone as the club struggles near the bottom of the Premier League.

Following a 2-0 defeat at Brentford — Forest's sixth loss in ten games across all competitions — Glasner said he would no longer compromise on his core values of trust and respect. He contrasted a purely respectful "military" environment with a purely trusting "Woodstock" atmosphere, arguing the team needs a balance of both to achieve high performance.

Forest sit 19th in the table and remain winless and goalless at home in the league this season. The Brentford loss marked their fourth defeat in five matches.

Glasner, 52, admitted he had questioned whether he should have addressed the issue earlier but felt compelled to speak out after seeing the same patterns repeat. He insisted he is not under immediate pressure and maintains close communication with the club's ownership, including Evangelos Marinakis's son Miltiadis, chief football officer George Syrianos, technical director Pedro Ferreira, and CEO Theodore Giannikos.

"Right now, I've failed and that's why I blame myself most," Glasner said, emphasizing his commitment to the club's success.
