Washington most recently served as the hitting coach for the Los Angeles Angels, a role he held during the 2024 season. He was photographed in the Angels dugout on July 3, 2024, alongside manager Ron Washington and third base coach Eric Young Sr. The Mets have not officially announced the hiring.
