Detroit native Eminem has chosen legendary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan to perform at halftime during the Detroit Lions' Thanksgiving Day game, according to a report from the Detroit News published Sunday.
The announcement adds a major musical element to one of the NFL's most traditional holiday showcases. Eminem, who has deep ties to the city and the franchise, was tasked with selecting the halftime entertainment for the nationally televised contest.
Wu-Tang Clan, the influential Staten Island collective known for their groundbreaking 1993 debut "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)," will bring their extensive catalog to Ford Field on November 26. The performance marks a high-profile intersection of hip-hop culture and America's most-watched regular-season football tradition.
The Detroit News report by Adam Graham did not specify additional performers or the exact format of the halftime presentation.
