The Detroit Lions debuted their new 'Rivalries' alternate uniforms for their game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The special edition uniforms mark the latest addition to the NFL's alternate helmet and uniform program, which allows teams to wear alternate designs for select games each season.
Detroit's new 'Rivalries' look pays homage to the team's historic divisional rivalry with Minnesota, a series that dates back to 1961 when both teams were in the NFL's Western Conference. The Lions and Vikings have met over 120 times in regular-season play, making it one of the most frequently contested matchups in the league.
The uniform reveal comes as the Lions continue their strong season under head coach Dan Campbell, with the team looking to build momentum in the NFC North race. Detroit entered the game with a winning record, aiming to strengthen their playoff positioning against a division rival.
