The Washington Commanders defense faces a significant challenge this week as they prepare to contain Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua. The second-year standout has emerged as one of the NFL's most productive pass catchers, presenting a difficult matchup for any secondary.
Nacua's combination of route precision, physicality after the catch, and chemistry with quarterback Matthew Stafford makes him a focal point of the Rams' offensive attack. The Commanders' defensive backs will need disciplined coverage and sure tackling to limit his impact on the game.
Washington's defensive coordinator will likely deploy multiple coverage schemes and possibly shadow assignments to neutralize Nacua's effectiveness. The outcome of this individual battle could heavily influence the final result of the NFC matchup.
