Kevin Durant has commented on long-standing rumors that Steve Kerr was close to becoming head coach of the New York Knicks before he instead joined the Golden State Warriors and helped launch a championship dynasty. Durant's remarks were made in a recent interview, though specific details of his response were not disclosed in the initial report.
The speculation about Kerr's potential move to New York has circulated for years, with the Knicks reportedly considering him before he accepted the Warriors job in 2014. Kerr went on to lead Golden State to four NBA titles, while the Knicks continued their search for sustained success.
