Manchester United are holding an emergency meeting as they search for a replacement for Michael Carrick, with Pep Guardiola described as 'top-class' and emerging as the favorite for the role, according to reports from Stretty News on Monday.
The Premier League club moved quickly to assess managerial options following Carrick's departure, with Guardiola's pedigree and reputation placing him at the top of their shortlist. The Spanish coach, currently at Manchester City, has won multiple league titles and Champions League trophies throughout his career.
United's hierarchy convened the urgent session on October 26, 2026, to discuss the managerial vacancy and potential candidates. While Guardiola's contractual situation at City would complicate any move, his status as one of the game's most successful coaches makes him a prime target for the Old Trafford outfit.
