Everton Women secured a 2-1 victory over Sheffield United in the Subway Players Cup, with a quick start proving decisive against the Blades.
The match, played as part of the pre-season competition, saw Everton take an early lead before holding off a Sheffield United comeback attempt.
Everton manager Scott Phelan was present at Goodison Park on October 25 ahead of the team's Barclays Women's Super League fixture against Aston Villa, but the cup tie took place on a separate date.
The result gives Everton momentum heading into the new WSL season.
