A new NFL passing metric called APEX has been introduced to better evaluate quarterback performance by adjusting for the strength of opposing defenses.
The statistic aims to provide a more accurate picture of pass-game efficiency by factoring in defensive competition, something traditional metrics often overlook.
APEX was unveiled on October 29, 2026, as part of an ongoing effort to advance football analytics.
