The Breeders' Cup Classic, the flagship race of the Breeders' Cup Thoroughbred World Championships, carries a $7 million purse. The 42nd running on November 1, 2025, at Del Mar Racetrack in Del Mar, California, was won by Forever Young with jockey Ryusei Sakai aboard.
As the 2026 edition approaches, the focus shifts to the new group of entrants competing for the same $7 million prize. The race continues to attract top thoroughbreds from around the globe.
