Former Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ander Herrera has expressed confidence that Jose Mourinho could turn around Real Madrid's fortunes, pointing to the Portuguese manager's successful first spell at the Santiago Bernabéu as evidence of his capability.
Herrera, who played under Mourinho at Manchester United, believes the manager's previous experience with the Spanish giants gives him a unique advantage should he return to the club. Mourinho managed Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa de España during his three-season tenure.
