Churchill Downs and the New York Racing Association (NYRA) have announced the addition of an Oaks Division for fillies to a newly created 10-race series. The move expands opportunities for female horses in a structured championship format, aligning with efforts to enhance competitive pathways in thoroughbred racing.
Details regarding the series schedule, purse structure, and qualifying criteria are expected to be released in the coming weeks. The initiative marks a collaborative effort between two of America's most historic racing organizations to elevate the profile of fillies' competition on a national stage.
