Tiger Woods is being backed to compete at an important tournament he has never won as the golf legend looks to add more history to his career, according to a report published Wednesday.
The 48-year-old, 15-time major champion has won 82 PGA Tour events but there remains at least one significant title missing from his resume. The report did not specify which event Woods is being encouraged to enter.
Woods has played a limited schedule in recent years due to injuries sustained in a 2021 car accident. His most recent competitive appearance came at the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon, where he missed the cut.
Any return to competition would draw significant attention as Woods continues to chase Sam Snead's all-time PGA Tour wins record of 82, a mark he currently shares.
