Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin has publicly questioned why the highly anticipated LSU-Alabama matchup has not been scheduled for a prime-time television window. The SEC rivalry game, one of college football's most watched annual contests, traditionally draws massive audiences and prime-time placement.
Kiffin, known for his active social media presence and candid commentary on conference matters, raised the scheduling issue as the 2026 season approaches its midpoint. The Tigers and Crimson Tide have met annually since 1964, with the game often carrying significant implications for the SEC West division race and College Football Playoff positioning.
Television networks typically prioritize this matchup for evening kickoff slots to maximize viewership. The absence of a prime-time designation for this year's edition has drawn attention from coaches and fans across the conference.
