Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi stated on Thursday that the team never planned to trade defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, though he revealed the Chicago Bears contacted the organization last night regarding a potential deal.
Borgonzi's comments come amid speculation surrounding Simmons' future with the franchise. The 26-year-old defensive lineman has been a cornerstone of the Titans' defense since being drafted in 2019.
The Bears' inquiry suggests interest in acquiring the Pro Bowl-caliber player, but Borgonzi emphasized that Tennessee had no intention of moving him.
