Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is on track to miss the team's Week 8 matchup, opening the door for Elijah Mitchell to take the starting role. The 26-year-old Barkley was photographed during the Eagles' game against the Los Angeles Rams at Lincoln Financial Field earlier this season.
The injury development carries significant implications for both the Eagles' backfield rotation and fantasy football lineups heading into the weekend. Mitchell, who has served in a complementary role, would see an expanded workload if Barkley is officially ruled out.
