Kansas men's basketball has been selected third in the Big 12 Conference media preseason poll for the upcoming season. The Jayhawks, perennial contenders in one of college basketball's toughest conferences, will enter the campaign with expectations of challenging for the league title.
The preseason ranking reflects the program's consistent excellence under head coach Bill Self, though the poll results indicate at least two conference rivals are viewed as stronger heading into the new season. Big 12 media members voted on the poll ahead of the conference's media day events.
Kansas will look to improve on its preseason position when the regular season begins, with conference play set to test the Jayhawks against a deep field of competitive programs.
