With 12 NBA games scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 28, daily fantasy basketball players face a deep player pool and tough lineup decisions. All-Stars such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Victor Wembanyama, Kevin Durant, and Nikola Jokic are expected to play, while top rookies Caleb Wilson and Yaxel Lendeborg also feature. However, several stars are sidelined, including Anthony Edwards (knee) and Kawhi Leonard (knee).
SportsLine's Mike McClure, a DFS professional with more than $2 million in career winnings and a predictive data engineer, has released his top NBA DFS picks for Wednesday. McClure's model simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, factoring in matchups, statistical trends, and injuries to identify optimal values on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Top NBA DFS Picks for Wednesday
One of McClure's top picks is Minnesota Timberwolves point guard LaMelo Ball, priced at $7,700 on DraftKings and $7,900 on FanDuel. Ball has averaged 14.8 points, 6.3 assists, and 2.0 rebounds early in his tenure with the Wolves. With Edwards out for a couple of months, Ball becomes the primary scorer and distributor. He faces a favorable matchup against the Golden State Warriors, who have allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing point guards on both platforms this season.
McClure is also building around Atlanta Hawks guard CJ McCollum, priced at $5,300 on both sites. McCollum is coming off a 20-point game on Monday and is shooting 53% overall and 44% on three-pointers this season. Atlanta takes on the Miami Heat on Wednesday, and McCollum has scored 20-plus points in each of his last four games versus Miami, averaging 3.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists during that stretch. The Heat are allowing 121.8 points per game this season, the seventh-most in the NBA.
McClure has identified an additional player who could produce massive numbers due to an optimal matchup, which he says could be the difference between winning tournaments and cash games. His full optimal lineups, rankings, advice, and stacks are available exclusively on SportsLine.
