German Bundesliga club Union Berlin have presented a quiz show contestant with a custom "SPASSIKOWSKI" shirt following a viral on-air mistake. The gesture came after the contestant's erroneous answer gained widespread attention on social media.
The shirt references the incorrect response given during the television quiz appearance. Union Berlin coach Mauro Lustrinelli was photographed ahead of the team's Bundesliga match against FC Augsburg at the WWK-Arena, where the club's lighthearted response to the viral moment was on display.
The club's decision to embrace the internet phenomenon with a personalized jersey demonstrates the increasing intersection between football culture and viral media moments. The match at WWK-Arena took place on November 1, 2026.
