Indiana Pacers forward Jalen Slawson apologized to Philadelphia 76ers star LeBron James after a viral chase-down block during their October 28, 2026 matchup at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The incident occurred in the second half when Slawson, wearing number 18, blocked James, who wears number 23 for the 76ers.
The apology sparked strong reactions from NBA fans on social media, with many calling the gesture unnecessary or even disrespectful. Comments such as "No Way Man" and "Actually More Disrespectful" reflected a sentiment that the block was a clean, competitive play that did not warrant an apology.
Photographer Trevor Ruszkowski captured the defensive play, which quickly circulated online. The game took place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with the Pacers hosting the 76ers.
