The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reversed its earlier consideration to change the frequency of the Africa Cup of Nations, confirming that the tournament will continue to be held every two years.
The decision was announced on Friday, October 30, 2026, maintaining the biennial cycle that has been in place for decades. CAF had previously explored a potential shift to a four-year cycle but ultimately opted to preserve the current schedule.
