Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has praised Lamine Yamal's mentality after the 19-year-old forward finished third in the 2026 Ballon d'Or voting.

Yamal, who turned 19 in July, was among the top three finalists for football's most prestigious individual award, announced on Friday. The Spanish international has been a standout performer for both club and country over the past year.

Speaking after the ceremony, Flick highlighted the youngster's professional attitude and resilience. "Lamine shows incredible maturity for his age. His mentality is exceptional, and that's why he continues to improve," Flick said.

The Ballon d'Or result caps a remarkable rise for Yamal, who became the youngest player to feature for Barcelona's first team and has already won major titles with Spain.
